Many of us walk into adulthood carrying invisible wounds from things our parents said, some cruel, others subtle, that shape how we see ourselves and what we believe we deserve in love and relationships. These scripts that we heard from our parents repeatedly creates our adult belief system, how we operate in the world and often creates negative patterns inside ourselves and causes us to feel small. Think about this: childhood and adult traumas may not always be a result of severe abuse. Here we are looking at the subtle wounds in our lives. These scripts are like computer code. In coding lines of code are repeated, similarly these scripts that we heard while growing up are repeated in our emotional wellbeing like viruses because many of us haven't healed yet from them.
